I had a great experience in the CNA class. The instructor is amazing and so knowledgeable. She makes the class fun and also takes the time to make sure you understand what is going on, really going above and beyond to make sure you succeed. I was born and raised in the Intermountain Area. I have been back at Mayers for about a year now, but I have worked here for a total of 5 years. I have been in the medical field for a long time, and I have known since I was ten years old that I wanted to be a nurse and help people. When I found out about the CNA class, I talked with other nurses in my family. I knew the CNA class would be a good place to start, and I'm so glad I did it! North State Giving Tuesday

Each year, Mayers Healthcare Foundation participates in North State Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a movement that began in 2012 to promote charitable giving during the Thanksgiving holiday season. It has become an international phenomenon with billions of dollars donated online to nonprofit organizations on the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving Day. North State Giving Tuesday provides nonprofit organizations the opportunity to gain exposure and start relationships with new donors, and for the people in Shasta, Siskiyou and Tehama counties to come together to raise as much money as possible for participating organizations within a 14-hour period.

This year, Mayers Healthcare Foundation is dedicating funds contributed through North State Giving Tuesday to the Mayers Memorial Hospital District CNA Program by providing student scholarships to cover the cost of all materials, supplies, screenings, exam fees. We believe this will lead to many great partnerships and careers providing for the healthcare needs of the residents in our Inter-Mountain communities.

The Community Foundation of the North State developed and launched North State Giving Tuesday (NSGT) as an online networking and giving event for Shasta, Siskiyou, and Tehama county nonprofits. NSGT has significantly grown in popularity and impact each year, raising nearly $4 million since inception.
