Mayers Healthcare Foundation's Continues to Award Scholarships to Local Students

Mayers Healthcare Foundation has many scholarship funds to meet the needs of our community members and Mayers Memorial Hospital employees. The Foundation, currently, offers hospital employee scholarships through the Mayers Employee Development Scholarship (MEDS) program, and scholarships to graduating high school students through the Community Scholarship program. In order to be eligible for the MEDS program you must be a Mayers employee advancing your education in clinical, nursing, or non-nursing and/or career enrichment (i.e., special job skills training, seminars, certificate, etc.). The MEDS Scholarship application accepts rolling applications and is open year-round.

The Foundation's largest scholarship fund, the Community Scholarship, is no longer accepting applications. The 2020 recipients of the Community Scholarship Program are, Myah Gallion and Natalie Osborne, both graduates of Fall River Valley High School; Cassie Stevenson of Big Valley High School; and Georgia Shaffer of Burney High School. The Community Scholarship Program also offers continued support to former scholarship recipients, who apply, majoring in medical or healthcare related fields. Brianna Hatfield, Cameron Cunningham and Lucas Warnock have all been awarded renewal scholarship support in their continued pursuit of their degrees. The Community Scholarship is funded by annual contributions from generous community members. It's a wonderful way for our community to support the educational advancement of our youth. Congratulations to all the recipients of the 2020 Community Scholarship Program!

The Foundation is still accepting applications for the newly established Dr. Robert M. Adams II Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is offered through both the Foundation's Community Scholarship program and MEDS program. The eligibility criteria for the Dr. Robert M. Adams II Memorial Scholarship is offered to students pursuing health-related majors that will graduate within 1-2 years while maintaining a minimum 3.0 or higher GPA and desiring to work at Mayers Memorial Hospital upon completion of schooling.
